I would say, back off until you take him and figure out what's going on. Talk to your Dr. and see if your insurance will cover a psychoeducational evaluation. My son was six and in first grade when we stopped begging the school to evaluate him and talked to our Dr. Once we found out he had dyslexia and where his strengths and weaknesses were, we had an IEP meeting and were able to get him on the right track. It's been almost a year now and he's doing so much better. I was driving myself, and probably him, crazy until we found out what was going on. I found a great neuropsychologist who also came to our IEP meeting. It was so worth it!
