Subject: Trinity Irish Dance Company--how hard to get into it?

Looks insane and difficult to get into. Can't believe it's been around since 1990.

Saw a Broadway review of them that mentioned some founding members. It is cool the main founder met Johnny Carson!

It looks insanely cool but difficult--how hard are the auditions?

Send an audition online. Follow up with them.
Sign up to audition at the Mid- America Oireachtas and meet the company members that are there. Build relationships with them. Go to their intensive training in the summer. 35 years!!! Oldest company out there.

Website says they were founded in 1990. Saw an article on Broadway World that mentions founding members from two prominent dance schools, including Healy. That was cool!

However I noticed those founding members would have been reallly young in 1990, unless they had a connection to the main founder at that point.

TIDC is more of an artsy company than ID. Semi-difficult to get in for girls, harder for boys. Big red flag is that they are known to not pay all the members. Use a lot of kids from their school and pay, if any is extremely low, with loads of fundraising required of members.

Thanks for your input--very difficult lol!

This article I read is probably incorrect. It says A. Belew is a founding member but she would have been very young in 1990. Unless it was her relative. I think they from a Western region dance school though; I could be wrong.
