Subject: "Modulating frequencies....in a slagging drunk-tank?!"
In reply to: Skyjack.... 's message, "Sky jack sat and waited in his cell, near by he could see Flux." on 13:41:48 08/21/01 Tue

"Yeeeesh. Last time I get myself locked up in a military base. Well, last time this week. Well....who'm I kidding?"

An old drunk named Murph wandered over to see what 'jack was doing, but the Decepticon shooed the reeking fleshling away and continued muttering to himself. Skyjack was just glad the station's crew had bigger fish to fry. In all the confusion of late, the AOD's number one troublemaker's infraction had been forgotten. Officially, security had hauled both he and Aviar Flux in for scuffling in the bar. But prior to that he had threatened the bartender(an occupational hazard Tankup had become accustomed to), and before that he had even fired off his weapon in a public place! All of this was before security had arrived though, and by the time he was brought to the brig, a fine was the biggest penalty he'd have to face. Having made his one transmission, and eager to get out and into trouble once more, Skayjack was now trying to scramble one of the toughest forcefields Rugby had to offer. The guard had left him though, and he had noted the desk clerk and several others rush out with a wounded guard--now was as good a time as any to make his escape.

"Come one, COME ON!! Humiliating enough to get busted with the second-in-command of war crimes in the next cell, as unlikely as that was, but to have him gloat...oh, Aviar Flux, how you will PAY when I see you again. And I WILL see you again.

WHY ISN'T THIS WORKING?!"

In his frustratation he hurled the scrambler, still on, into the modulating field. It caught for a moment, sparks corruscating around it, even as the field dimmed in a circular gradient around it. Skyjack was unsure, but desperate.

"See you around, folks! Keep in touch!" Skyjack cracked wise, sounding more confident than he felt as he dove toward the shuddering field. He leapt at it, finding no resistance at first, but half way through the lock scrambler began to smoke. He struggled, half in the cell and half outside, suspended in a weakened energy field. The scrambler would burn out in a matter of nanokliks, or the field would remodulate, but in either case the result would be his body being cleanly sliced in half! It was a fate he'd would never, ever experience in the field of battle, and one he'd as soon avoid as the other. Suddenly, the answer came to him: his retro burners! His ankle-rockets flared, propelling him through even as his scrambler exploded and the field solidified. Immediately, the halls autoguns trained on him and as guards surrounded him, with alarms blaring and red targetting lasers painting elaborate flashing arrows on his torso, Skyjack raised his arms and prepared to talk his way out of this one...
