When the hologram flickered, Rotor thought the base persona had manifested. But as it spoke in a dull, bored tone, he wasn't certain, and repeated his request to speak to the core program. Even the gruff Lieutenant was momentarily taken aback by PHOTRON's uncharacteristically snappish retort.

"I'm, here already Lieutenant. No sense of humor, eh 'Sipowicz'? Fine, everybody's so serious...seriously boring! Why when I go on an adventure, I bring a little more to the party if you know what I--"

PHOTRON caught himself as Rotor's optics narrowed; saying too much, especially to the security officer, was a foolish risk. In his excitement, he had nearly revealed his unauthorized transmission, one that would have FORTRAN or another technician examining his programming, maybe even removing or altering his base personality engrams. The threat to his imagination, to his very self, was sobering enough, and he quickly pulled himself together--as together as he got.

What can I do for you and the Predacon in custody?

Don't look so surprised folks...that's a top grade projection that portable unit's sending, but I percieve light differently than you solids...that's the latest detonatable model, if I'm not mistaken..SUPERSONIC!! must be a dangerous one, eh? Mayeb this won't be as boring as I thought. Not that boredom is part of my programming mind you...I'm here to serve! That's my motto and I'm babbling aren't I? Am I? I am..."

"PHOTRON!!!"

"Sorry Lieutenant. You know these rooms are secure. Whomever you have under that lovely swirling mass of photons, you can expect my full discretion. So what's on the agenda today? Perp going to finger someone in a holo-lineup?"

"More like we're looking for answers from you, PHOTRON.

What can you tell us about a guy named Samuel?"

And PHOTRON listened intently as the Lieutenant told his story and began the questioning...
