Subject: Computers, Force fields and AIs oh my!

Forge sat in a darkly lit corner of the room, working away at a human-sized computer console. The screens light flickered on his face, casting dancing shadows. His hands moved quickly across the keyboard, as he entered in new instructions into his program. After a few more final strokes, Forge hit the execute command. The screen went dark for a second, and then a 3D image appeared. The image was that of an angel, female by the looks of it (Not that angels are male or female necessarily). Under the image were the words "Vicky".

"Greetings, I am Vicky, the messenger angel."

Forge leaned back and grinned at his creation. The Angels voice was soothing and pleasant, and her 3D form was no less pleasant.

It had taken months of work, but his Engineering teams had gotten numerous AIs completed for the system, but now, he was getting to his favorite part, the interface AIs. This particular one worked with messaging system. It worked directly with the "master" AI Yves, who controlled all the vast functions that Rugby's massaging system needed.

Forge loved his work with a passion, it was his LIFE. Though he had been promoted to Head Engineer of Rugby, he still could not resist getting his hands "dirty" by joining his team to help out. He had been told it was such with many people. He knew his friend portrayed the very same behavior quite often.

The Chief Engineer looked about the large Engineering bay, it was so quiet. Of course, it was the night shift, and the majority of the teams had gone of to bed. But not Forge, he was too busy. Besides, he wanted to start on the military AIs that Operations had been hounding him about...he had promised some new weapon systems and such, and having a complete AI controlling them would make Rugby one tough opponent in a battle. Forge looked around again, searching to see if his Weapons Engineer had left yet, but he could not find him. Maybe he would just have to start without him...
