Subject: "I guess I oughtta start with the first episode..."
In reply to: Officer Anakin, Omicron Colony II 's message, "Anakin watched his partner..." on 20:04:07 08/07/01 Tue

"The frikkin' menace--sorry yer honor--the defendant wasn't really that big a concern at the time. Thing is, we get the occasional smuggler or barroom brawl, but Rugby is relatively peaceful...barring the occasional fear demon o'course."

The stony faces in the jury box told Rotor what he should have known; it was far too soon to joke about the WR@, if ever such a time came. But the Lieutenant was nervous, and the tale he was about to relay was so poignant, so painful, that he was preparing them for the worst without even realizing it.

"We were rebuilding...the escape pods from the SP Boardhopper had arrived, and there actually were some survivors. I was scrounging up the best security detail I could under the circumstances...it was crazy. So many dead, wounded...some mentally...the whole thing left a lasting effect on us, that's for damn sure.

Anyways, in the midst of all that comes Scaleblade, a dragoness with a mean attitude. Nothing we did could stop her, and--"

Barristro interjected, pointing out that Scaleblade was not the one on trial. Nores overruled it when Masonite pointed out these were events from the day in question, and Rotor was leading up to the actual escape attempt. Nores did urge the officer to be brief.

"Is toothy gonna interupt every single--sorry, sorry Judge...I know what that gavel means. It's just that Shar...sorry.

We brought her in on a murder charge. I don't know how many of you knew Jack McCormick, but he was one of the best officers we had..and a single father too. Well, if you knew him you'd know he lost his wife last year to the big EC....someday they're gonna cure that...

Anyway, his little girl, Ali? She happens to show up just as Scaleblade is making toast of her daddy. Burned to a crisp, and suddenly we have a murderer in custody. She seemed to calm down when we locked her up, even begging to be let out...but I seen that before, and there ain't no jailcell confession that's gonna get penance outta me. I put the safety and security of the crew and families, humans and machines, that make up this community. She was there and she was gonna stay there.

Our brig is no joke. We had some glitches sure since getting full power restored, but as you all know, Captain Howitzer took care of that with a quickness! So if the triple reinforced titanium walls and disruption field didn't keep the prisoner in place, the autoguns an' razorbeam bars certainly would have. And that's when that scu--when the defendant busted IN to the brig!

You heard me, the friggin' psycho--sorry your-honor--defendant came in blasting. He took out some of my guards, with no fatalities thank Primus, and blasted through her cell like it was made of cheese! I'm sorry but this was as powerful an intruder as I'd ever seen, and I respect and take no chances in those cases!

He claimed she was his sister and started to take her out of her cell! So now I had a jailbreaker who defied security and an orphanmaker who thought she could waltz right out of here! No slaggin' way! Sorry, your honor!

I moved as fast as I could to act...she was going to stand trial if it cost me my life! I authorized Microport Protocol 107. You can check the procedures manual. It allows for a security lieutenant to make a surgically precise removal of a prisoner's vital components, in this case his engine. My officers Harsky and Stutch each hadda put their keycard into a device every officer of my level carries, in my case, in my forearm. There may have been momentary pain for the defendant, but he had snuck in so quickly from the bar and I did NOT want another shootout like we had in the brig. Warden A wouldn't have wanted that, Cap Howitzer wouldn't...none of us would. What? Editorializing? Hey, tell toothgut ta shuttup! he'll get his chance to grill me and...fine. I'll tell it like it was.

My team moved quick. No sooner was his engine in a protective casing than they got Dinotron into a cell, and hooked him up to the station. SBR itself would become his lifesupport. Enough power to keep him alive but immobile, and enough incentive for his sis not to try anything dumb like blow a power relay. Because if the station died, then...

Here's the problem. Apparently D-tron was some kind of omni-leech...I heard tell that one of the Omicron boys saw him drain a ROCK for energy! I know it defies logic and sounds nutty as a cashew, but what happened next sure supports that theory.

Now Traz backed what I did...even got in energon drips for both of them. Any way, one of the officers--Jon Matthews--he went to check on D-tron and get the drip set up. He was safe; he had a team with stunsticks just in case, but it was all precaution. Standard procedure.

As Matthews was leaving, some kind of tentacle--you heard me folks--burst out and began...draining him I guess. All I know is I never saw a man that pallid, that agonized! He didn't kill him though...only drained and tossed him aside, returning to his cell! Yeah, the prisoner was AMBULATORY at the time! He wanted to show us he wasn't under our power completely, like he was gloatng he could leave any time he wanted! He shouldn't have been able to blink much less stand, but whatever he did with Matthews made him stronger again!

So sis gets inspired..Scaley starts draining energy from her cell! I don't get why they didn't try it sooner if they could, but she had her tentacles in every wall socket and she was on her way out! Now, they were already getting energy from the base but now they were taking as much as they needed! The perp busted out and went to finish Matthews! He'd tell you himself if he wasn't still in a coma!

It gets worse though..."
By now the gruff but good-spirited Lieutenants optics were red; this was NOT an experience he wanted to be reliving, "Warden Alcatraz is in the medlabs, recovering. Warden Alcatraz is about to be a father. But on that day, we nearly had to have a slagging FUNERAL for our CO! They were like animals, or vampires, feasting on him like he was dessert! All our officers, all our security measures--they were a JOKE to him! He went right for Traz and got him, and threw him to Scaleblade to finish off!

Well, she was gonna finish him alright...on her home turf! Some place called Shiney Pants Town or something...we got a rescue team there just in time to save Traz and get him back to the medlabs. SHE is still at large though. As for the other perp, after attacking the Docking Bay again and disabling our defenses, we got him back. I even saw normally steel-tough officers panic, flip out, and claim they were killing hundreds. Thankfully that was an exaggeration.

That's the day as best as memory serves me. I'm sure shark-puss is gonna try and twist things, say I used excessive force. If you ask me, I didn't use enough force. Maybe then we'd have a few less deaths, and a lot more room in the medlabs.

The room was in silence by the time Rotor finished, their mood visibly swayed. Only Barristro had his insufferable toothy grin of confidence, a consistent poker facade no matter how he was faring in a case. Rotor braced himself as Masonite took his seat and Barristro approached to cross-examine. He had lost his temper several times and risked contempt already, under Masonite's gentle probing. How would he maintain his composure under the inevitable pretzel of words the Sharkticon Attorney was preparing to bind him in?
