For what it is worth from an affiliates perspective, could some of these points be combined? i.e.:

*To strengthen the documents community by providing the means for communication between local, state and regional Government Documents groups and GODORT

*To support professional development, continuing education and networking of librarians by performing a clearinghouse function by communicating information on training opportunities, meetings and conferences held by local and national organizations.

*To strengthen the network of librarians for the exchange of information on the access and use of government information and for action related to legislation. GODORT to affiliates and affiliates to GODORT.
