She surveys the Cavern and starts practicing with her small staff.

She plays a few notes of closing for her free-form ballad, and starts playing a second, more energetic tune. After a few bars, it's clearly one of the halfling style, though not a specific song, and seems to be a song quite out of the ordinary for an elf to play. [> The smile of Miirielhael widens at the questions, but she doesn't answer any until she is done with the song. Fortunately, the song doesn't take long to play, because of it's quick and jolly rythum. Once she finishes the last note, she laughs at the questioning expressions of the other two. "Oh, just something my father taught me." she says quicky, and teasingly pretends to leave it at that until the instant before more questions can be thought of and asked, when she gives the full answer. "My father was a musician and travelled quite widely before he met my mother. He always tried to learn songs from the places he visited, and would trade a few songs for food and a bed. He passed through halfling land quite a few times, I believe. As I was his daughter, he naturally taught me and my brother to love music, and any of the songs we wanted to learn. I took a lot more advantage of it than my brother though, I must have more of my father's blood in my veins." She shrugs and smiles. -- Miirielhael, 16:52:15 09/12/03 Fri

It seemed like he went pretty much everywhere at some point or other. I wouldn't be at all surprised if that included the halfling village in Alistra." she shrugs, "I do know a few more halfling songs, let me think." She furrows her brow a moment, before bringing her flute back to her lips, and suddenly launching herself into a very fast jig, of the sort that makes the dancers to the music hard pressed to keep up. The tempo causes Miirielhael's fingers to fly up and down her flute. She gets a look of concentration, managing to keep most of her fingering accurate. -- Miirielhael, 19:59:40 09/19/03 Fri

Once she gets her wind back, she smiles at Catica, "You're quite welcome, I need to keep myself in practice. That's my secret, I'm always practicing."
