Subject: She had gotten a short briefing from the doctor, but not a lot as the doctor had understood that she was most concerned with seeing him. She paused in the doorway, faultering a bit, before she went to his bedside, a frown etched across her pretty features as she took in the sight of him, looking so lifeless save for the slow rise of his chest and the beeping of the heart monitor that told her his heart was beating. She pulled one of the visitor's chairs so close to the bed that her knees were jammed between the chair and the bedframe and tentatively reached out to touch his hand - he was littered in bruises, he looked terrible, and it was almost frightening.

  • It was an hour or so later when the sedatives started to wear off, his eyelids beginning to flutter a little before they opened, a gruff sound muffled by the oxygen mask he wore. He was still being drip-fed pain meds so he didn;t feel too awful, but his head was very cloudy and he was drowsey and not quite lucid. His blue eyes found her after a moment or two , looking at her for a long moment before a faint smile tugged at his lips, murmering a little behind the mask "Sorry.... im...late..."
