I still smile when I remember watching award after award go to Return of the King. My only disappointment is that Sean Astin didn't get nominated for Best Supporting Actor. He was outstanding as Sam, and the heart of the third film.

What I want to know is, when did they decide to split up the awards no one cares about? Documentaries, short animated, foreign language, and lifetime achievement used to be grouped together. This allowed me a nice half hour where I could take a shower and get ready for bed. Last night, I had to sit through the whole show - kind of a snoozer in the middle parts.
