Although it was no surprise that Angel was double-crossing the bad guys, I thought they handled it well. The video game scene with Illyria and the Aragorn Clone was funny. Andy Hallet actually managed to convey some depth in a few of Lorne's scenes, which is not something I'm used to seeing from him. I do think Christian Kane, who I've enjoyed in the past, is overplaying the snottiness right now, though. And Adam Baldwin, who many seem to love, isn't impressing me, even granting the fact that he gives a better performance than Eve (pimento loaf would give a better performance than Eve).

The best, and most crucial, scene was the one where they voted on whether or not they wanted to participate in the big fight. I thought that was really terrific and, depending on how happy I am with next week's finale, that could be my own personal ending for the show. Loudest applause for Alexis Denisoff's little smile just before he votes. It conveyed that for this character, at this point, death in a good cause would be a relief. Although I would typically react instinctively against that outlook, Alexis's skill allowed me to accept the truth of this emotion for Wesley in these circumstances (even despite my inability to grasp anyone being wild with grief over Fred).

Also applause for the gratuitous cleavage shots of Naked Werewolf Girl in bed with Angel. Because, even in an Apocalypse, we need time for life's simple pleasures.

How can The Senior Partners be fooled by Angel's actions? He is cursed with a soul and a conscience. He cannot act against the conscience, yet the Senior Partners seem to be falling for it.

Huh?

Considering the succession of (presumably) souled humans who are corrupted by them, I don't think they'd suspect.
