...which I have ridiculously high hopes for, given my incredibly positive reaction to the first two, but anyway...

I really liked Finding Nemo. I like it more each time I see it (five times so far).

Also (in no particular order):

X2 (I read the comics in my teens, and I am so thrilled that not only do these movies not suck, they're actually pretty good.)
Master and Commander (Like wwolfe, I generally can't stand Russell Crowe, but I actually liked him in this. Maybe it was the fact that he cracked a smile, for once.)
Pirates of the Caribbean (Good fun.)
Holes (best surprise/sleeper)


Movies I liked, but didn't Love:

The latter was obviously a Freudian slip.

"The Italian Job" was everything that Hollywood does best, even if it doesn't do it often enough, and almost nothing that it does badly. A very solid little entertainment machine that hummed along nicely from starting line to the checkered flag - meaning those zippy little cars were its perfect emblem.

From last year, I forgot "Roger Dodger," which should have ended one scene sooner, but was otherwise an excellent rendition of a very creepy type, and "Femme Fatale," about which the highest compliment I can offer is that I'm still amazed that Brian DePalma made a movie I liked a lot.

Also from last year, I'm still trying to see "Auto Focus." So far, Blockbuster's one and only copy has been out every time I've checked. And my thirteen HBO channels via digital cable have allowed me to make the happy discovery that "Secretary" holds up very well after repeated viewings. (On the other hand, "The Rules of Attraction" is like a pond scum milkshake - by far the most repellant movie, in an entirely unartistic way, that I've seen in many years.)
