Usually some boxed set of various artists, more than likely of the soul music persuasion. I like having an assortment of artists because it allows me to be surprised by each new selection. This in turn helps me keep my mind off of cleaning, which I too hate.

It's funny how different tasks, or different times of day, or even different days of the week, seem suited for different types of music. Sundays I almost always listen to quiet classical music, often by Bach. Late at night often seems right for the Impressions or the Stones' "Exile On Main Street."

For years, every time I cleaned house, I listend to The White Album. By the time it was over, I was done cleaning.

Then I was ito musicals, and my roommate and I would always bust out Les Mis and listen to the whore song over and over. Cracked us up as we sang along. Then we would go through all our old tapes and bust out our favorites and clean, clean, clean.

Lately I've been listening to girly music while I clean. Not sure why.
