It's a Rent-To-Own company ... Our store is one of two owned by the company and were the sole interest in the city up until a little while ago when an independant stuck his foot in the door to the area by undercutting our prices and terms.

Bully to him since one of the two stores in town that belong to our company used to belong to his dad before he was bought out by us.

As far as customer base is concerned, there's not expected to be a lot of loyalty on the part of mjy custopmers since they are already getting the hard shaft from us on a daily basis.

Taking my customer base with me ? Hard to say who would change up and who wouldn't when you consider that a lot of them already have a vested interest in paying out/keeping the product from the current company since they have already been with us for a while and have so much paid in on what they have.

My main point was more along the lines of getting into full sales where I can walk into any electronics store and honestly claim to have sold big screen TVs to people that don't need and can't afford them or go into computer repairs/service when I can likely treble my hourly rate at work or just suck it up and ride out the benefits package for a while longer and see what kind of raise is down the pipe and headed my way.

Also note, I'm not major league by any stretch of the imagination. I'm essentially a newbie to the market place, have no college degree (despite higher education) and am a simple wage slave. The majority of my employment experience prior to this, my first "retail" job was in *gasp* food service.

And frankly, I really don't wanna go down in history as a "career bullshitter."
