First, why did you switch brands of oil? If you've done well over the years w/ castrol, keep on with it...

Second, just keep a moniter on oil consumption. Make sure the car is level and has NOT been started, such as in the morning, when you check your oil. This will be the most accurate. If the oil is between the lines, just drive with that to keep from overfilling. But the most important bit is to moniter the oil consumption from here on. If it starts burning more than 1qt per 1000 miles, then it may be time to look for a rebuild or another car.

BTW, my '93 ES has 201,000 miles and runs well. It smokes a bit at startup and when you take off, but oil consumption is about 1.5 quarts per 3000 miles. I change my oil every 3,000 miles with Pennzoil 10W-30, and that has been run in the car since its first oil change. Good luck!
