Author: Mercado
Subject: "Moons! The size of this place!"

As Mercado and the others stood outside the walls of Sheesh'a'ream with Biggs, he marvelled at the enormity of it. Buildings of varying size and style, from various worlds and cultures shared streets in a precariously eclectic fashion. Sand whipped about various hut-like structures as merchants shouted to one another in dialects unrecognizable to Mercado. Were his armor operating at peak efficiency, he doubted his built-in translators would have found a match anyway.

Mercado glanced at the rest of his party. Nathaniel still clung to the struggling 'Raph Sar', but Mercado was still somewhat concerned. The danger here was tangible, and if a threat from within had come so close to finishing him...he shuddered to think what might await them within the city. The expression on young Christopher's face brought a sad smile to the Nebulan; he fondly remembered his own sense of wonderment at seeing the one of Nebulos' larger cities for the first time as a boy. Raph had always gone into town for supplies with their father, but one particular summer he had been too ill to make the journey and, with some help from his mother, Cado had persuaded his father he was now old enough to assist in Raph's stead. True, he was still too small to hoist as many bags of grain into their hover-carriage as his brother could, but he gave his best effort and, in the end, had been rewarded. Still at an age not yet ripe enough to appreciate the beauty of his play companion Ligh, his first poems had been inspired by that very city.

Now, years later and the last of his family, Mercado sighed at the reminder of how much had changed since his childhood. But, whatever challenge lay ahead, whatever awaited them atop the glowing peak of that mountain, he vowed as always to do his best, and hoped Chris(who had actually lost a brother of his own) might come through their experiences unscathed...
