An overseas round of ARP is a brilliant idea. And Spa-Francorchamps is the best place. I raced there in 1988 and 1989 while in British F3, and also did the Spa 24 hours. The circuit is amazing, and perfect for F3.

finding hotel accomodation is pretty easy (obviously being a gp venue!) but camping out is a doddle too (one for the Jon Grays of this world there!)And the circuit organisers seem to be very nice, and always keen to have a british championship make the effort.

However! I think that as good as going over the water is, we still have another option open to us, somewhere also considerd to be abroad! But a few hundred miles in the opposite direction. OK Knockhill is not as upmarket as going to Belgium, or France! But it would be more within all our budgets, and no passport needed, or licence problems.

I did the Scottish Superprix in 1987 at Knockhill, and the Scots were well keen to extend the hand of friendship (except in the pub in Dunfermaline) And I am sure that there will be some local talent willing to hire an old F3, just to show us the way round. Anyway its another option, even if I am more keen to get to Spa or even Zandvoort in Holland, thats another good one (they have some real mad bastards over there!, and some interesting night life in Amsterdam)

Hell if you decide on Spa, I'm going to find me a racer, and get over there myself........ and win by miles! yee haa!

Best wishes
String
