trying to keep myself detached from the growing religious patriotism and political posturing. for the first time, i really see how the gov't, the media, + talking heads are working in concert to manipulate the popular response. the deliberate misinformation and careful spinning of the truths
concerns me greatly. and the people just gobble it up.

the political response is more frightening than the terrorist act itself. i'm more frightened by the idiot in the white house than i am by the idiot in the afgan mountains. the real threat to our liberty and freedom comes
from the white house, the house and the senate. and the surge in nationalist patriotism, our country right or wrong, terrifies me to my very bones.

the only bright spot--the only one--is colin powell. he's the only gov't official who seems to have risen to the occasion with intelligence and sobriety. hope he's as real and that his integrity is genuine.
