You are right about the variabes that influence your ability to win the game. But i will tell you of my experience. When i first started playing there was a guy by the name of Almighty. This guy would win every game by 10-20 points. I always wondered how he did it. Then i started doing a lot of reading on various UT sites and i learned what it took to win. Ping and fps have some bearing on how you play, but skill will always allow you to beat another player who has a better ping or fps.
