Mellony listened intently, he gaze fastened onto Jayne's as he spoke. Her hand never left his arm, infact, she began smoothing her fingers over his skin in a comforting gesture, one she didn't even realize hse was making. her bright green eyes filling with tears upon hearing that his wife had been killed. and the fact that she'd been four months pregnant? Her free hand went audimatically to her stomach, and she sniffed back her dispair. Jayne....I'm so sorry.. Her sympathy would mean very little to him, or at least that's what Mel thought. Without even thinking about it, Mellony slipped her arms around Jayne's waist, her swollen belly preventing her giving him a tight hug, but still, the gesture was there. She could hear his heart beating hard in his chest, and glanced up at him. How long ago did she get killed? She whispered softly, fearful of pissing him off with her questions... Wiat, Mellony Deverouex, fearful? that's unheard of! Mellony didn't fear anything, or anyone. She was the 21 year old full of piss and vinigar. Nobody could knock her down.. So why did it seem Jayne had knocked her flat on her ass. She'd wanted to see him as some masochistic asshole, who thought he was better than her, but now she had seen him, taken to his knees by the memories of his wife's murder.

then she remembered what had happened earlier that night... She'd been stalked, and he'd tried to do her arm... Jayne had saved her. Oh shit. Her eyes widened as she stared up at him, her thought process fairly obvious.
