The times had been quiet, none had come to practice or buy.. though that could not be strange in the dead of winter.. Inside the main room, the forge roaring, a bowl of liquid metal hangs over the fire as the muscular armorer readies his anvil.
Extending a pair of long tongs into the flames, he removes the hard block of metal, heaving the hammer quickly and bringing it down upon the already cooling block. Sparks fly as the hammer makes contact, the metal elongating on command of the mallet...
The dogs sit a comfortable distance from the heat, the younger male chewing on a bone as the female watches the metal-worker's progress..
Conner pauses in his work, drawing a forearm across his face, clearing his brow of sweat-soaked curls. He smiles as his gaze moves to the dogs, especially noticing his close observation by the female. Raising his eyebrows he gazes back at her kindly, rewarded by ta raising of ears. He laughs and returns to his project, seizing the tongs again and removing the elongated red-black form from the fire, and starting upon the finer work of the sword...
