it seems bleatingly obvious to all within the industry that this year's draft is super strong and one where you want more chips rather than less.

with that in mind, (we) CFC proceed to:
_trade away our 1st rounder (to freo) as part of Schultz trade for a role / player type we really didn't need ie. not a superstar and certainly not a game breaker

_roll the dice with our 2nd rounder and swap it with Haw's as part of the Ginni give-away trade, resulting in shuffle down a few picks

_maintain all our ageing stars - not suggesting any / all should retire - but we run the risk of 2 or more retiring next year and more the year after when, apparently, the draft is 'uber weak' compared to this year.

Geelong for example have retired 2 of their old brigade this year (hawkins, tuohy) and delisted an additional 7 (incl Rohan & Parfitt)
