the betting ban.

He was interesting watch though because I used to hear from those who lived near where he grew up that 'You can't take the boy out of Ferntree Gully'. He was influenced detrimentally by his mates.

Conversely I was told by a colleague's son who was the fitness trainer at the Eastern Rangers that he was a freak athlete with loads of talent. The former claim was supported by some of his training feats, including the way he won a highly competitive old style beep test early in 2019. He simply didn't give in and the others with high endurance couldn't match him.

The other areas of concern were his 'softness' which was especially exposed in 2020 and during one game he ended up being consoled by Pendles on the bench because he was embarrassed by his efforts, or lack thereof.

When he returned from the betting ban his light seemed dimmer and he'd seemingly lost that boyish spark which delighted the fans who enjoyed his daredevil streak, and exciting pace and skills.

Another query was on how we would evolve as a player. His endurance capacity should have allowed him to play as a mid but the lack of competitive intent offset that asset.

Stevo wants to retire to a lower competition and play with his mates.

Many who around draft time had plumped for Naughton obviously lament Hine's choice despite his stellar first season.

Given we had a need for height Oscar Allan and Sam Taylor were also overlooked, though admittedly by other clubs too.
