Subject: Honestly, they should go back to requiring Miss NC to take a year off so she can fulfill the duties of the title. I don't know why they started this business of letting the girl stay in school and try to do the job, anyway.

In reply to: 's message, "While yes, Taylor was privileged to take a year off of school for the duties of Miss NC, does not mean Carrie should be excused for the poor job she has done. Miss NC is Miss NC, whether you’re in school or working full-time. When a part of our state is destructed by a natural disaster, we expect Miss NC to do more than make a generic post on social media (days after the fact). Taylor is and will always be a pioneer and go down in the history books as a legendary Miss NC." on 13:59:19 10/09/24 Wed

Is Miss NC relevant? I'm not talking about Carrie, I'm talking about the idea. Is a 20-something with the title of Miss NC relevant? What does a 20-something bring to the table to a politician to shape government policy? She's not making a campaign contribution. What business experience does Miss NC bring to the table to be relevant in a corporate boardroom or to a corporate event? She's never held a corporate job of any stature. So I'm not sure she has anything other than an opinion, a smile and a sparkling hat. There are teens in every city that have more followers on social media and have more influence. And they didn't have to win a pageant, wear a crown or subject themselves to judgement. All they had to do was be cute, speak well and put their angles on the gram. (NT)No name08:43:27 10/21/24 Mon
