When we float down the river
I wonder will I lose you

Ok, an a bit controversial topic. I love John, but won’t let my feelings play into this matter. Did John Frusciante give River the speedball he died of? Barry’s book says so. Barry isn't just someone who wants to get profits from writing a River book and sensationalise many stuff, but he did an advanced research on the book and talked with numerous coworkers, friends and certain members of River´s family.
Despite witnesses the book also provides proof for me, because in a text that quotes John, River’s father, he says that a) the person who gave River the drugs was 23 in 1994 (John), b) the person is rich (John) and c) the person was taken to rehab by River. Now I heard that John Frusciante was taken to rehab by River and River paid for it. River tried to save John and was pulled into it all by him. River’s father said he was like “do drugs, do drugs”. An unsympathetic remark John made was that it’s a shame that River has been born rather than he died cuz he hated this place…knowing that it’s partly Mr. Frusciante’s responsibility that River died. Okay, River didn’t have to accept the speedball from him, but to offer him this pure poison…he didn’t know how high the dose in the speedball was, but still…John could have protected River by trying his speedball out first, but on the other hand that would mean John wouldn’t be here anymore too and I’m glad John is with us.
I think River was angry at John when he noticed what shit John had given him and said: “What the fuck is that shit?”, but meanwhile I’d like to think that River has forgiven John. Their close friendship continues on, on a spiritual level, like Barry’s book states in the chapter the mythical and mystical River. It is even said that John channels River’s spirit to get song ideas. I think there are a whole lot of songs that are inspired by John’s feelings towards River, e.g. from the song “I’m around you” on the album “Inside of emptiness”: “You know I'm around you, I wouldn't be if I didn’t love you, I'm going to run through you.” and: “And couldn’t we get a second chance, to go back and start over,
I was thinking before, that it was all my fault…”
Another example where John’s lyrics (“Interior Two”) seem to be aimed at River:

Why don’t you come on back again
I hear our song in the wind
I see clouds laughing insane
I hear our song in the wind
I see clouds laughing again
We fall into forever's lap

And we endlessly come on back
Wherever did we find this night
I'll come back in another life
Why don’t you come back over again
Won't you come back over

Or “Loss” from “Will To Death”:

Now that I'm gone
Now that I'm long gone
This minute has come and gone
I never said to do anything but forget me
I can't be lost

Maybe I’m interpreting in it too much, but what are your thoughts on this?
John made a big mistake and River paid for it. John was more fucked up than River. I read several books on River and River was a controlled drug user who was clean for a while. River’s mistake was to trust John.
