This would be a floodgate as West Florida and Valdosta State going to ASUN/WAC, Mississippi College and Delta State to the Southland. UAH to D1, and West Alabama becomes homeless for football.

With several D2 schools closing down, and more smaller schools joining D2? The larger schools are not happy being in D2 right now.

This is a real bummer for me. West Alabama is my alma mater, 1981-1986. With West Alabama and on-football University of Montevallo remaining, the Gulf South Conference has become the new Pac 12.

West Alabama's president is my old business professor. I'll ask him what the plan is for the team.
