Subject: I'm surprised you dislike W so much really
In reply to: coyotyl 's message, "it seems to me that W's tax breaks & unfunded wars ..." on 11:52:53 06/13/12 Wed

Have you considered all the similarities between Obama and W?

Created health care bureaucracy the country can't afford?
Both men

Went after terrorists?
Both men

Got us into wars?
Both men.

Kept prisoners at Guantanamo Bay?
Both men

Doubling of gasoline prices in one 4 year term?
Both men.

Huge unemployment rates that hit minorities particularly hard?
Both men.

Government bailout of "too big to fail corporations"?
Both men

Massive campaign contributions from the wealthy?
Both men.

Let's China steal our technology, manipulate their currency and dump products in our markets?
Both men.

Re: The 20% loss - what about the next 20% that Obama cost people? You don't think that should count too?

Since Bush gets 20% credit from you, that means the next 20% for Obama -- Truly an eerie resemblance, but not a bit surprising considering their policies on trade are identical.

Re: "Austerity"
I find it fascinating that when Bill Clinton with the help of tax cuts by the Republican Congress balanced the budget it was good for the economy, but now when conservatives want to balance the budget, it's being called "austerity". How does that work exactly?

Clinton says extend them for now. Who do you consider more knowledgeable on the economy based off their records in office, Obama or Clinton?

RE: Consumer demand

If Consumers don't have jobs, they don't have money, they don't spend money and there isn't any consumer demand. I'm all for an increase in the minimum wage as Romney advocated before he got leaned on by the far right in the primaries, but that isn't going to do it by itself. We need growth in the private sector and particularly in our manufacturing base to create jobs.

Stop letting China steal our technology, dump products in our market below cost and otherwise rob us blind by imposing tariffs as Romney has advocated and at least a little bit of what is currently made in China might just get made in the good old USA instead which would create JOBS.
