Wow! I am so tired today. We got home from the concert at about 2:30 this morning and I got up at 6:45. Plus I have to be here at school tonight until 8:00 for parent /teacher conferences. As you may well imagine, I am not making good choices today. I didn't even bother to wake up early enough to make food for the day. I don't care today and I am fine with that.

Anyway, last night was FANTASTIC! The band was incredible and Jeff and I had a marvelous time. I really feel like we needed it. I emailed him this morning to tell him that I had a wonderful time with him last night and he emailed me back to tell me that it was "magical". :)

I looked great! This was (unintentionally) the first time I have dressed up or "shown off" since I have lost weight and I actually looked around the room and thought to myself, I look as good as almost anyone here. I thought to myself, "These women have nothing over me." That was liberating. I altered my favorite black skirt last weekend so that it fit properly and I wore high boots (not quite knee high) with fishnet hose and a great shirt I got a few years ago from Victoria's Secret that is black and flesh colored but if you look at it from a distance, it looks like you have on a lace shirt. I used a huge curling iron and added some volume to my flat white-girl hair. Very minimal eye make up and red lipstick. When we stopped for dinner, Jeff told me that I looked very beautiful and at the theater we talked about how much more laid back the people are in Colorado (no one dressing up to impress each other) than they are in Chicago and he told me "You are one of the finest looking women in here.". That made me feel great. We actually danced all night long and, more importantly, flirted with each other!! It was great. Every time he went to the bathroom he put his hat on my head. I loved that and told him after the show that I felt like he was "saving his space". He told me that was exactly why he was doing that. He wanted to kind of mark his territory. That's the kind of romantic thing I need to remember when I am feeling low.

It also occurred to me that every time this band was coming to Chicago, I would think to myself, I can lose ___ pounds before they come and look great. I can weigh 180 or 175 by the time of the show and of course, I never did. This time, I weighed less than I ever aspired to be in all those times of planning and hoping.
