Cool Denny! Very Bonsai-ish. I have a photo I liked so much that I framed it and it hangs in my kitchen. It is of a small child nestled amongst the roots of a massive tree, she is dwarfed to the extent that the photo is surreal and fairy tale like. It's one of those rare photos that completely impacts your visual sensabilities....I guess you could say it is quite symbolic.

very, very cool. A lot of gesneriads grow from rhizomes and look really cool with part of the rhizome showing (some prefer to grow that way with a nasty risk of rot if it's totally covered with soil). It's interesting to see the difference in appearance of those structures. Some are rather scaly, some are smooth, some look like they have bark...
There is an art to houseplanting! And this is part of it. :)
