Subject: I bought today.....

I bought a plant I love today - a variegated Pittosporum tobira. I saw it yesterday, but no, I didn't jump immediately. Went home and read it up - it's easy, and beautiful, and has a scent that is strong but not as powerful as gardenia, but just as pleasant; (flowers open and opening now!).
I love easy plants, like people - not fussy, or difficult, or prone to histrionics; that way, we become friends.
I'm sure where you are, Denny, Pittosporum tobira would survive outside, but not always here - so it needs my protection and patronage!

yeah maggie,a common landscape plant here.pretty.
but some of my favorite houseplants are common outside elsewhere,its all relative.
i saw a native hawaiian at an orchid show who said she never paid orchids much mind they were so common where she lived.
