Liz, all my cacti stay outside year round. I just move them out of the rain when it is cold.

If you have a garage you can move the cacti into it, watering some each month so it doesn't dry completely out. Light may be an issue but you are encouraging dormancy here and perhaps could get by with it. Unless the garage has windows too!

Some plants depending on how low your temps go, can just be moved up next to the house for warmth from the heat bleed of the structure.

I water mine thouroughly once a week. Seems about a half gallon each for mine, which are in multiplanted containers, strawberry pot and Mesa Planter.

my pencil is 56inches tall . I have already gotten 5 plants off of it , it is getting top heavy I want to put it in our county fair in 4 weeks how can I get her to stand straight , she almost has complete tiny leaves she is 30 inches wide . She was left out in the rain for 3 days . It would be best to repot her so she wouldnt root rot , right I have had her for two years now . I need helpful hints
