The University of Ulster is doing its bit to hammer home anti-racism and anti-sectarian messages by holding a series of exhibitions across its campuses this week.

As part of Community Relations Week, exhibitions aimed at promoting the importance of diversity and multi-culturalism will be held at Jordanstown, Coleraine and Magee.

Anne Monaghan, the university's community relations manager, said: "Being at university is a time to have some space to reflect on the important issues of the day and we encourage students to respect diversity both on and off campus."

James Byers, overall UU Students' Union president, said: "While students are studying they are provided an unique opportunity to not only learn about different religions and cultures, but also to experience them at first hand with the many different countries and cultures represented through our international students and staff.

"The Students' Union is fully committed to Community Relations Week."

Included in the exhibitions will be the Community Relations Council, Equality Commission, Human Rights Commission, Need to Know, the Youth Empowerment Scheme, UU Students' Union, and One Small Step Campaign.
