Excellent Letter declan.

This articulates my thoughts on the PSNi but I can't understand why Calum the overall President was allowed to ignore the democratic voice of the students and continue to meet this discreditted Police Force.

I thought this candidate (Overall President)calum claimed to support SF or claimed to be a member during his election last year and didn't the overall president Calum constantly ridicule the Jordanstown candidate for using his name in Irish and speaking in Irish as it was as the Magee candidate then said "offensive". The Jordanstown runner was clearly the peoples' champion and the right man for the job we all know that now (too late)and clearly Sean Mac Eachaidh was a principled Irish Republican - is this why this student and his family got such horrible treatment from the Magee and Coleraine Camps? I don't know what shit you were fed about the Jordanstwon Candidate Declan but I was told he was a bigot who wanted to destroy the Union. I heard that his small sons and daughters got shit at magee. I didn't beleive it at the time but I do now. My friend has just left the union and what he had to say about the Overall President and cop meetings is a disgrace. He also claimed that the election was rigged in Calum's favour big time and that a Union president at UUJ left last year because his computer was seized by Calum the overall president with the help of a union employee. he also told me that Sean Mac Eachaidh worked his balls off for the students at Jordanstown and any student I know at UUJ say the exact same thing about their ex president. They say that sean had the support of all students both catholic and protestant and both sections of the community were reflected in his campign workers. So what did we throw out the door - a student that that had balls to speak up and represent students?? It certainly looks thatway to me Declan. The Jordanstown Runner refused point blank to meet the RUC and PSNI fair play to him at least this boy had convictions but then look at Calum (The Oversall President at UU)he revelled in such meeting to the point where he would go outside of his remit to meet the RUC at another campus while he was still based at Magee. So what is going on within our Union????? The Overall President has no right to force anyone to meet with the RUC or the PSNI if this wee man wants to meet them then let him but no officer should follow suit you cannot be compelled by the political views of the Union Overall President no matter who this person says he is or knows - I do not know of any republican that would endorse such meetings or indeed the crap that was allowed to happen re the Hunger strike exhibition at Magee Campus Derry.
