Can ERG be more transparent than it already is.I have heard Fogarty say a few times that because of the nature of the business they are in, earnings can be very unpredictable,especially if you are winning contracts regulaly.How can you announce that your CFO has resigned in a nice way so that the companies shares dont get hammered the next day?Why did he resign?No one knows for sure,so why speculate.Slater seems to have left the company on good terms and says that ERG have a great future going forward.He was the previous CFO.A company can not react to every paper report that is written about them or every forum that cries bankrupt.That could also mean an admission of problems.
I have always believed that ERG has one of the brightest futures of any company on the ASX.The smartcard industry will be huge.However I sold every share I own at 45c.Why?. ONE TEL.One company that I thought would never go broke,with Packer and Murdoch, how could they? The ERG rights prospectus actually gives me suspicion that there may be a short term funding problem.Anyway better be safe than sorry.When I can see confirmation that ERG is still on track to achieve its goals I would get straight back in on this stock until then ill sit on the sidelines.In 2 months I will have repurchased my ERG shares or I will be sitting back thanking god I got out.

I agree with the One Tel analogy..or at least the mention of it in the context of ERG.
I posted this very thing a day or so ago. This situation had me feeling "Here we go again.."
I do not know much about this company. I have always watched it from afar, and only recently (around 55 cents) started watching it a lot more closely.
ONE and ERG right now seem too similar for me to enter into a trade here...as tempting as it may appear...after all, it looked tempting around 50 cents.....
And yep, Jamie and Lachlan didnt have a clue about ONE....brave to be buying ERG right now I reckon!

i rang erg to try to get a better idea of the finances .they say that they are well over halfway to the 200- 265 million cash collections they forcast for this fin year from contractsand everything is on track for profit forecast .the recuring revenues were 100 mil last year and are on track for a 20%increase this year they have the cash from the rights issue 44 mil plus 26 mil from the downer shares and expect to dispose of the other 20 mil in due course.wrongway

Wrongway, one thing that gives me some confidence about the ERG cash position is that they still hold a heap of Downer shares.If they were desperate they sure would have sold the remaining shares by now.However they, dont seem so sure that all revenue they expectthis year they will recieve.Their wording does not sound so convincing.
