In reply to: lisa 's message, "I wasn't going to post, but after stewing all day, I just had to vent. What the heck was the point of that last night?? Where was the Harm who promised Mac "he would always be there," who declared she'd "always have someone who'd love her". Instead, he was portrayed as cold and indifferent. Not even a glimmer of being glad to see the woman to whom he pledged "he would never feel about another woman the way he felt about her." Was that forced, awkward hug supposed to be a shipper moment? It was such a slap in the face to fans who lived through nine years of angst only to have the pathetic "happy" ending of JAG ripped away for absolutely no reason. (inside)" on 19:45:16 09/30/19 Mon

I needed a few days to think through what I saw there on sunday evening. When I first heard of the return of Harm and Mac I was excited. Forst my thoughts on the character of HARM. I don´t know what the heck they did with him. Over the 10 years of JAG I really like him. He was sometimes immature for his age, but a nice guy with a heart at the right place, a caring, faithful person to his friends and family with a somehow complex character (but aren´t we all a little complex). That made him everybody´s darling. What we got sunday was a onedimensional, cold, bitter and somehow childish guy. As a woman, i can hardly image what should attract me on him. I don´t believe it was DJE´s playing. The writers made a fool out of him by giving him stupid lines. The only accusation you can make to DJE is that he accepted it to play that fool. Some examples. His talk with Callen about their exes in that gym. Not that this talk was totally inappropriate in such a huge crisis, he is the XO of a ship and hardly knows agent Callen. In real live they would never have had such a discussion. Then he says we worked together, we got together, we got engaged and then we were not (hoho, shrugs his shoulders). I think it was suppose to be funny but which 56 year old talks this way. How many chances does he get in life to get engaged. And as far as i know this woman was the love of his life. I was wondering when in this talk we come to the point where he and Callen were talking about who has the larger one (sorry to say). Then this parking lot scene. Even if you were once a couple and Maybe you did not split on common ground, do you need to behave like a 20 something. They could have greeted in a normal way. There was no place for bygone problems. It´s been nine years. Get over it, as Sturgis would say. It was not the right time and place for that. The writers just put this in to give all the disappointed shippers some shipper moment. It wasn´t one in my view. What I found the most annoying was this bar scene. She wanted to talk, he did not. She was somehow desperate while saying "I will not ask you now to live with me..." She wanted to hear something. I felt bad for her. He was cold, careless, did not say at least he cared for her, talked lukewarm about job opportunities that were offered him by Hetty and finished saying "but i love the carrier". First i thought I did not hear right. How old is he, maybe three. As a woman i would have stood up and said, go down with your ship. She ad least came up with"its always moving". Sorry but who is writing such nonsense. The story behind their breakup. I think she left him and broke off the engagement. That´s why he is saying "i thought you like your job in DC" Her taking this job was the breaking point. I mean these two had nine years to discuss their relationship problems. They now did it by chance. If they were not able to discuss it person to person they could have done it the old fashioned way by letter. But they did not. What does it say us about them. There are two adult people in their fifftys with highly ambitious jobs, not able to discuss things through. I would say he is done with her. Whatever she did, it hurt him deeply. I remember the talk he had with Beth o´Neill in secret agent man "when you talk to each other, you know its over". To me it was clear for him it is over. There was nothing.´He did not take her hand or did something emotional to her. He could have said, that he still loves her. He did not. He now loves the carrier. If there is really thinking about a reboot or so, say definitly need new and good writers. I don´t want to get depressed and in need for a strong glas of red wine to survive a show. What I loved about JAG was that there was always something positive even wenn things were rough. I loved HARM and MAC- They made such a cute couple. They cared for each other. Why did they have to destroy all this for this three episodes arc. Why did Catherine and David went with it. I cannot understand or even stand to watch the reruns at the moment. In a comment i read lately. "what did they think when making this, that people really want to see if Grandma and Grandpa will get it on or not. It´s hard saying. But it nailed it. We were past this. They could be Grandma and Grandpa by know if they had got it together 23 years ago.

[> I agree with your assessment Jenks. I would love to see Harm and Mac as NCIS: San Diego. What Gimmel put on the show was pretty much what I expected. It was fun to watch. -- FJN, 15:29:01 10/06/19 Sun

[> [> Well FJN, I wasn't holding my breath for anything big, but I do see it as an open door for a possible reboot. I think this may be the last year for NCIS-LA and that would be an opening for a San Diego like Heddy mentioned. It remains to be seen... -- jenks, 09:22:00 10/07/19 Mon

I really would like to know what you found fun to watch. I mean really, it is not meant ironicially. I am still disturbed by this whole mess. I still feel bad watching her saying "I won´t ask you to be with me" and his none responding. What did they want to tell us. That relationships can fail ? ok. It would have then be enough to have just one in that episode. What was the reason for all of that. I don´t believe in an NCIS San Diego. I think it was just saying. Both CB and DJE are to old for such action driven Show. I also would think that the story of NCIS is pretty much told. It would not work. And even if he would take that job, besides the fact that he was not really interested, she would still be living in DC.
