Here are two species ideas... let me know if they are good or wacky.. and if you think they would be played.. or anything else.

First one:
Elizkarii - Somewhat majestic, waterlike entities. Have a rather generic fluid form in water, but when not.. which is often the case...and would be in the game.. they can assume a variety of structual forms.. from humanoid to fourlegged depending on their origin. Their size would not vary dramatically, and they cannot change their land based shape. Their skin is watery and fluid, a bit transparent, like water flowing just under the surface of the skin. Any hair they may have is made of the same material..almost as if you can see through it but not quite. The males are brightly colored, the females duller but they can luminesce, their skin color can change slightly but only as a human would blush.. no chameleon features. Also rather large eyes of any color and shape. Their abilities that are most notable, very acute hearing, and the ability to squeeze through extremely tiny spaces...the equivilent of a six foot man going through a one inch square space. They can't squeeze through anything microscopic though..so no wafting through walls. Their most notable feature is their voices, which in their own language sound like an unimaginably large and varied orchestra. Very musical, with tiny nuances that have meanings, thus their excellent hearing. They can learn other languages with amazing speed, and imitate them well, although their voices are always melodic and give them a distinct accent. Oh.. also, they are physically unable to hide their emotions, and although generally serene, they quite obviously show what they are feeling, be that rage, interest, fright or embarassment. This also means that in essence they can't lie.
