I have just transcribed the will of John Rowbotham of
>Mottram, Cheshire made the 16th Sept 1734. It makes

There is also a Will for John Rowbotham who died in 1763 and who I believe is John's son (although John snr seems to have been 95 when he died according to the gravestone). Jane remarried George Shaw in 1738 and died 1748. George Shaws Will1758 also includes a pew in Mottram church which he left to John Rowbotham the younger (presumably originally belonged to John snr and passed to Jane and then George). There is also a Will for Thomas Broadbent 1784 which included bequests to his granchildren -- the children of his daughter Alice (wife of Francis Hill) by her marriage to John Rowbotham (jnr)
