>Worse and worse?, I was laid off in the late 70's, does that mean I shouldn't have to pay taxes any more? As far as turnips, this country is full of them and it ain't getting any better. Been shopping lately? The stores are full of people in uniforms and name-tags just wandering around taking up space. Service is a thing of the past. Hell, for alot of people work has become a pastime. Just clockin', making my hours, gettin' by. I don't know the people you deal with on a daily basis but I'd just like to find "a few good men". Finding someone to show up for work 2 days in a row is like hitting the jackpot for me. Yep, these people won't be paying much if any taxes. They don't work! Somehow they've got it in their heads that work is for chumps. Where do you think they could get such a notion? Liberals, the "equal outcome without equal effort" crowd, won't be happy until they've pounded the American work ethic into the ground. It's really no wonder the middleclass is shrinking. Working hard and getting ahead is much harder to do than getting sucked into the malaise. This diatribe may seem to have little to do with who pays what taxes but in a way it has everything to do with it. It's like the minimum wage argument. Are there really people out there who show up for work everyday, and actually work, stuck at minimum wage? I don't buy that one either. Minimum wage is just so much more liberal claptrap designed to prove that "we're on your side guys", "let's make them greedy rich bastards pay".

I'm grasping your figures. Half the people pay the
>lion's share. But you can't get blood from a turnip
>can you? If you ain't got it to pay then what to you
>expect? And with all the lay-offs its only going to
>get worse and worse. Eventually someone somewhere is
>going to have to pay more. It's one of those trickle
>down theories isn't it?
