Carson was irritated. The sky slowly darkened into a pale grey and the rain drizzled down on his sleek black bodice. He flicked his lobes back and forward and shook his crania. The greyness dulled the landscape before him and he watched at the mare and colt disappeared from sight. He stopped bewildered and raised his head up to the sky. What have I done to deserve this? All he wanted was to see Shade one more time to tell her that he was sorry. Even if she didn't ever want to see his brutish self again after that at least he would have been able to say goodbye to his love. Looking down at the grass in front if him it suddenly looked a sickening green. He struck at it angrily with his fore hoof and dug a muddy hole into the ground. Lightning streaked across the sky adding to his displeasure. The rain suddenly began to fall harder, soaking him thoroughly through and causing him to shiver. He swished his tail around trying to get the excess water out of it and clamped it to his buttocks keeping them dry. He started walking across the land again still heading in the direction of the vix and her babe. His head down depressed he dragged his massive body across the field. His large iron slopped in the mud and splashed slime up into his white feathers where it clumped into a cold hard mess. His whole body drooped from anguish. Where was Shade? What was she thinking off? Lightning ripped across the sky with a sizzle and a tremor from the earth. A patch of trees was lighted momentarily before dissolving into the blackness again. He headed for the shelter. No use suffering out here in the rain.

The lone brute finally crossed the field and made it to the pines. Halting in front of them he flared his nostrils trying to detect other beings among the grove but to his despare he could only sense the over whelming scent of falling water. He peered carefully into the mess of branches and needles yet the darkness still revealed no definate shape within the forest. His auds pricked forwards at one last attempt yet still nothing but the pounding of the water upon the ground and his heavily soaked body could be heard of. Feeling secure he was alone he engressed into the grove of trees leaving behind the falling water and made his way slowly into the comforting center hoping to avoid any droplets escaping the needles. Just as he started to take he last step forwards the whole world lit up in the brillance of daylight and below his very visage only inches from his mug was the facade of a very beautiful and very familiar black mare. Night Shade.
