I'm sure of the origin of this but the grapevine puts forth the following requirements for the new crew member:
NOTE: ETHNIC refers to anyone who is not white/Caucasian. That would include black, Asian, Latino, Native, East Indian, etc. [LU] MALE, age 25-35. ETHNIC, preferably LATINO. Ruggedy handsome. A stylish Swashbuckler…loyal, witty, charming and warm. The best friend to Dylan (Kevin Sorbo), they’re
Butch and Sundance. A Musketeer in service to the Commonwealth, but more importantly in service to Dylan and the Andromeda. Devil-may-care
panache. He is the best friend anyone would want. Prides himself in staying two steps ahead of Dylan…or
> what he thinks is two steps ahead of Dylan. Real fighting skills preferable, or, at least, a background in action. He’s strong, fast, agile, creative, a great storyteller and Dylan’s biggest fan. In some ways, he is almost the human equivalent of a Doberman. But he’s a faithful dog who loves to hunt on his own. If the Commonwealth is Dylan’s cause, Dylan is this guy’s cause—in protecting him, putting himself on the line for him, hanging on his every word…aspiring to be him. Not that the Commonwealth itself isn’t important to him. In fact, the opposite is true. When we meet him, he has rescued Dylan. Gone to great lengths and danger…when he finally gets to Dylan, Dylan asks what his plan is: his response, “You…I got
> to you. You’re the plan.” And so their journey begins. He’s physically able, well trained with weapons, and has quick reflexes. When Dylan throws him a gun in the heat of battle, he will catch it every time, no
flumbling. If Dylan is soul, Beka is head, Harper is brain and Trance is intuition, this guy is heart. Pure, unabashed heart. Dylan has found a drinking buddy. Someone who shares his love of the Commonwealth. Deep down, Dylan will always feel guilty that
Andromeda might be responsible for his new friend’s family being wiped out and, though he enjoys the man’s stories of hime more than anyone else, he will feel a bit of sadness. And awe at the fact that this guy doesn’t have a speck of resentment or carry any blame. Dylan applauds his courage and bravado but wishes he’d stop and think sometimes before he acts…SERIES REGULAR

I like the sound of it but I can just imagine the response from the "serious" folks on Ex Isle and the official board. I better send Seth another buck up note because when this comes out, he's going to get creamed.
Say. . . wouldn't Michael Hurst be perfect for this part?
Heheheheh.
