The anti-adult sentiment comes from a few places:

1. Adults (most likely parents) who haven’t found joy for themselves in a hobby or personal pursuit
2. ADs who don’t like judging adult competitions due to the perceived lower standard and/or body prejudice
3. TCs who don’t see adults as a means to glorify themselves or boost their ego


HOWEVER

I also believe that if we required qualification to get to Nationals and regionals, then we’d earn respect as a group. Similar to how a school is frowned upon for sending an unqualified younger dancer. Adult dancers need to be there but we also need to meet the standard to earn respect and be taken seriously.
