World Medals are awarded at Worlds. There is a formula, but in large comps it works out to about the top 10-15% of the number of dancers who competed.

WMH are skipped over for WQs at Nationals and Oireachtas competitions. At awards at both, they are given WQ sashes like everyone else if they placed high enough. They are WQ by virtue of being a WMH. And it would be chaos for the stage managers to manage who gets a sash and who doesn’t.

This issue always comes up so I’ll address it here. If dancer cannot dance at Worlds because of an adjudicator conflict, her WQ passes down at Oireachtas only, not nationals.

I don’t know what they do if a dancer WQs at Nationals but not Oireachtas (and I’ve seen it happen but never with a dancer who had a conflict at Worlds).

If a dancer misses Worlds due to a conflict, she dances the next year. I assume she would only get a WQ sash that year at a major that year if she placed high enough.
