I've been having a very hard time in my daily life dealing with "sinners", (I know we're all sinners). I deal with children every day and I wonder about discipline. These children don't profess to know God and many times their behavior is not good. My personal wants is to be strict-especially if I give out a threat-i.e., "if you do this...I'll do this".
I disciplined a boy for disobeying me, but afterwards I was wondering about many things-everybody disobeys. However, if there's flagrant disobedience it has to be dealt with.
I've been told I'm a control freak though, and as I'm thinking about it, I wonder if I should have overlooked his behavior. However, if you overlook people's behavior-where do you draw the line? Also, Jesus was a friend of sinners and tax collectors. I wonder, "How did Jesus relate to sinners and tax collectors?". Did he tell them their sins-as ubf often did. Or did he just fellowship with them and love them and pray for them.
As I teach kids in the public schools, should I just love them and overlook their sins and maybe later on if they become Christians deal with their writing on desks, talking while I'm talking etc.
I often wonder if I'm a control freak or it's loving to be strict. I think it's much easier to run a classroom if I have the kids under control, but I don't want the kids to become sullen either.
