"Living Church of God is one of about 300 offshoots of the World Church of God, founded by radio preacher Herbert W. Armstrong. It believes in a Saturday sabbath and no eating of pork or shellfish. And while they believe in Jesus and God, followers do not believe in the holy spirit. Its leaders often preach that the end of the world is near."
The heretical teaching of Herbert Armstrong was not the end of the story with the World Church of God. False teaching is rarely the only problem with a cult. There was also manipulation and control of members, legalism and other behavioral problems that are typical for cults.
