Leaving UBF was an answer to my prayers. Ironically, it was the prayer from my 2004 annual key verse testimony. My key verse for 2004 was Matthew 11:28-30. 28“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
UBF made me weary and burdened. The human centered training, requirement to absolutely obey man, works-focused doctrine, unrepentance and self-righteous arrogance of leaders, and legalism were heavy burdens loaded down upon me that left me with a weary and broken heart. When I left UBF, a tremendous burden was lifted from me. I could find rest in Christ's yoke. His gentle and humble heart provided comfort and peace. I thank God for answering my prayer to take my weary and burdened heart out of UBF and so that I could truly experience living under the yoke of Christ.
