Let me give you a concrete example, the City of Chonan houses the Korean Independence Hall. This is an effect a museum of Japanese atrocities against the Koreans some of which go back five centuries. It is a place of national homage for Koreans. It also attracts large numbers of Japanese visitors.
Japan foolishly published this stupid textbook for schools that shamelessly whitewashed their horrendous crimes toward Korea and China during world war 2, when I left Korea a year after publication of this infamous book only half a percent of Japanese schools were using it. One good note is that a large number of Japanese dont follow the opinions of their leaders.
