Subject: how about a reality check for you?
In reply to: elia 's message, "Re: hum... i don't understand the point here" on 16:56:46 04/13/05 Wed

Elia,

I think you have exposed your views as being inconsistent. Chris is right. You are inconsistent. Why should any young person be interested in following you? I hope none are.

Your leaders have proved they are inconsistent in that their actions never match their speech. And what they demand of their followers, they themselves would never do. The Bible calls this hypocrisy. It was the trademark way of the Pharisees.

I think you need a reality check. A reality check is "an assessment to determine if one's circumstances or expectations conform to reality" or "something that clarifies or serves as a reminder of reality by correcting a misconception."

I think you do a disservice to students by pretneding that it is fine to be inf with all the abuse and problems. The abuse and problems make ubf an unhealthy group, and as far as trying to be achurch, the abuse and problems show that ubf is a cult. It would be more accurate for you to say that you know ubf is a cult, but because you have not been abused much, you stay there for now. How would that work? It pays to be honest. God bless.

NT
