Elia, you may not realize that there is abuse going on. I did not realize that I was being abused until spending five years in UBF. Even then, the abuse was right in my face with nine months of human-centered humbleness training. I continue to recall events of six or seven years ago in which I was manipulated and abused. At the time, I did not realize the abuse that went on. If you have not personally experienced being trained or disciplined in a public and embarassing manner, you may not be able to see the absuive behavior.

This is an accurate assessment of the mindset of UBF leaders. They do not want to be helped at all. They do not want to admit they did anything wrong. My chapter director and his wife told me that they had "no regrets" about how they treated me after almost eight years in UBF. Only someone who thinks they were never wrong or perfect can have no regrets. They do not want to be helped at all. They only want to continue to abuse people and pretend that they are great servants of God.

This is not a generalization. I have never known a UBF in which the one-sided relationship is not true. In fact, my chapter director and other leaders told me that I should not offer any correction to those above me on the spiritual order. Basically, I was told that they could say and do whatever insensitive, hurtful, wrong commit they wanted to me and that I should thank and praise them for it. The evidence given on this site and others is that my statement is not merely a generalization, but fact. The benefit of rescue ubf, escape ubf, and ubf.info.de is that they reveal that the abusive behavior is just isolated within one or two chapters, but common to all chapters.

In Christ,

PECAS
