A ex UBF Korean missionary from
>my chapter expressed this by saying: "All who
>should come out have come out."

The ex Korean UBF missionary places UBF in a static framework. His statement appears to be that when reform took place, everyone should have seen the truth and left UBF or decided that UBF was their only calling and stayed. There are always new recruits being indoctrinated in some UBF. There are always shepherds leaving the love-bombing phrase and receiving spiriual abuse. I paid no attention to the 2000-2001 reform movement and did not leave until more than three years later. I know some other former members who dismissed the reform movement, but later accepted that UBF teaches false doctrines and imposes spiritual abuse and left UBF. As long as UBF continues to recruit college students, people will be going through the various stages of UBF experience that will eventually cause them to question UBF and after much pain and frustration, leave.

Even if this statement was limited to indoctinated hardcore UBF veterans, I still disagree. In 1988, James Kim from Toledo and Peter Chang from Columbus would have been considered indoctrinated hardcore UBF veterans. Then, God opened their eyes to the abuse. They wrote about the abuses of Samuel Lee and later were kicked out of UBF. According to the archived posts, Peter Chang has learned the gospel from evangelical ministers and has repented for his past abuse. Nothing is impossible with God. Even the most indoctrinated UBF members of UBF can be transformed by Christ.

In Christ,

PECAS
