Hi everyone,

Merry Christmas to you and your family and friends. The discussion about the quality individual from Johns Hopkins makes me think back to the early days of my experience at ubf in 1983. The ubf America mission plan, devised by EE Chang Woo, was to raise up '561 American fulltime shepherds', to have a fulltime ubfAmerican in charge at each major campus in this great country. And just to make the prayer topic more incredible, all the fulltime shepherds were supposed to be PhD shepherds.

For this expressed purpose, many hundreds of people labored, and many millions of dollars were collected. The excuse was that big (and I mean BIG) money was needed to support all these fulltime Americans, and of course then ubf would have to purchase so many Bible houses.

But a strange thing happened. The ubf could not really recruit anyone who fit into their mould of the PhD fulltime American shepherd except one decent man from Johns Hopkins. There was a guy who went to Harvard, but he couldn't recruit anybody. There are a few fulltime ubfAmericans in Chicago, but they can't recruit anyone either, and none of them got a PhD. ubf has been looking for their PhD fulltime shepherds all over this country, but has not created even one!

By the late 1980's the mantra of 561 fulltime American shepherds had totally disappeared. In its place was the 'kingdom of priests and a holy nation.' This 'new' plan is now 15 years old, and the results don't look any better at ubf.

What has caused the ubf to so completely fail at their mission? Was the strategy flawed? Was the execution flawed? Were the ubf plan and prayer topics against God's will?

I have alot of thoughts on this. If others would like to discuss this, please post some thoughts here.

Merry Christmas to all.
